Report of visceral gout on a flock of Leghorn layers | Reporte de gota visceral en ponedoras White Leghorn

الأسبانية؛ قشتالية. En un lote de ponedoras White Leghorn en etapa de prepostura ocurrio una alta mortalidad por gota visceral que se prolongo durante varios meses. Los estudios retrospectivos realizados muestran que las aves tuvieron problemas de salud y mal manejo durante su inicio y desarrollo. En la etapa de prepostura surgieron algunos ca sos de encefalomalacia y se aplico una dosis adicional con carbonato de calcio, apareciendo luego los primeros afectados porgota visceral. En los examenes anatomopatologicos se analizaron los rinones de aves sanas y enfermas en dlferentes etapas del brote, mostrando en todos los casos alta incidencia de lesiones. Se efectuaron otros examenes complementarios en hematologfa, bioqufmica, bromatologfa, microbiologfa y serologfa viral para bronquitis infecciosa. Los resultados de los estudios efectuados permiten diagnosticar Gota Visceral en ponedoras Leghorn con antecedentes de dano renal que se desencadeno con el suministro adicional de carbonato de calcio en la etapa de prepostura.

إنجليزي. In a Leghorn layers flock with a high mortality rate due to visceral gout in the stage before laying which extended for several months. The retrospective studies carried out show that the birds had health problems and diseases during their early lives and development. During the prelaying stage some cases of encephalomalacia developed. for which an additional dose of calcium carbonate was administered, and later on the first birds affected by visceral gout appeared. Within the anatomopathological examinations, the kidneys of both healthy and sick poultry were analyzed at different stages of the outbreak, showing a high incidence of lesions in all instances. Other complementary examinations in hematology, biochemistry, bromatology, microbiology, and viral serology for infectious bronchitis were carried out. The results of the studies carried out allow to report an outbreak of «Visceral Gout in Leghorn layers with antecedents of kidney lesions which break out with the additional supply of calcium carbonate at the prelaying stage.
