Efectos alelopáticos de Phyla strigulosa sobre la germinación y crecimiento de malezas

La experiencia fue realizada en el laboratorio de Alelopatía de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de Las Villas (UCLV), con el objetivo de probar si las características invasivas de la especie Phyla strigulosa var sirecea (M. Martens and Galeotti Moldenke) se deben a un efecto de tipo alelopático. Primeramente se realizó un registro de distribución y predominancia de la especie según los catálogos y resúmenes históricos de malezas, conservados en el Laboratorio Provincial de Sanidad Vegetal de Villa Clara, y luego conociendo que se cuenta de forma natural con suficiente material vegetal de esta especie para su aplicación, se realizó un ensayo a partir de la incorporación en suelo de residuos (hojas, tallos e inflorescencia), previamente secados y molidos; considerándose las dosis 0,6; 0,9 y 1,3 por ciento peso seco de residuos/volumen de suelo, y un testigo no tratado. Se observó un efecto inhibitorio sobre la germinación de unas 20 especies de malezas, entre ellas mete bravo (Echinochloa colona (L.) Link.), plumilla (Leptochloa panicea (Retz.) Ohwi), sancaraña (Rottboellia cochinchinensis L. F.), hierba de la niña (Chamaesyce hirta (L.) Mill.), romerillo cimarrón (Lagascea mollis Cav.), etc. Se manifestó también un efecto depresivo sobre la producción de materia seca de las malezas, todo lo cual fue significativo hasta pasados los 30 días de aplicados los tratamientos.

This experiment was carried out in the Allelopathic Laboratory of Research Agriculture Centre, in September-October period (2003) with the objective of proving if the invasive characteristic of Phyla strigulosa var sirecea (M. Martens and Galeotti) Moldenke) species is due to an allelopathic effect. Firstly it was carried out a distribution registration and predominance of the species according to the catalogs and historical summaries of weeds, conserved in the Provincial Laboratory of Plant Protection of Villa Clara, and then knowing that it consists in natural way of enough vegetable material of this species for their application, it was carried out a test of residuals soil incorporation in form of flour (Leaves, steam and inflorescence), previously dryings and milled; being considered the doses 0,6; 0,9 and 1,3 per cent weigh dry of flour residues /volume, and a blank non treaty. An inhibitory effect was observed on the germination of some 20 weeds species among them mete bravo (Echinochloa colona (L.) Link.), plumilla (Leptochloa panicea (Retz.) Ohwi), sancaraña (Rottboellia cochinchinensis L. F.), hierba la niña (Chamaesyce hirta (L.) Mill.), romerillo cimarrón (Lagascea mollis Cav.), and also showed a depressive effect on weeds dry matter production, all that which was significant until 30 days after treatments.
