In spite of the economic importance of coffee, thee is no reliable information on the utilization of coffee processing by-product either from low input traditional small-holdings or the large-scale plantations. Consequently, intensive coffee cultivation without additions of crop residue have resulted both in the decline of soil organic matter content and productivity. In an attempt to search for an alternative and promote the utilization of coffee processing by-products and organic (low input_ fertilizers, the objectives of the study were designed to investigate their immediate and long-term effect on soil physical and chemical properties. The results of he experiment have indicated that incorporation of coffee processing by-products influenced soil physical and chemical properties.
