Sclerotium wilt of vegetables is a widespread disease in Ghana. It is soil Sclerotium wilt of vegetables is a widespread disease in Ghana. It is soil-borne and has been recorded on several crops. Losses due to the disease have been as high as 30% or more. Several fungicides have been tried in investigations to control the disease but most of them are either too expensive when applied in the open field or phytotoxic at the concentrations effective in controlling the pathogen. The objective of this work was to find a suitable chemical to control the disease. Mercuric chloride at the concentration of 1 g in 500 ml of water, formaldehyde at 10 ml in 500 ml of water and formaldehyde at 10ml in 800 ml of water completely controlled the disease.
