Tomato pulp is the by-product of tomato juice manufactures and cantains hulls and seeds. tomato pulp contains 18.6 % dry matter (DM)and its nutrient composition includes 14.21% crude protein (CP), 8.26% ether extract (EE), 30.22% crude fiber (CF), 4.45% ASH and 0.45% phophorous(P), respectively. the gross energy (GE) of tomato pulp was estimated 5233 kcal/kg.in this study 60male lambs of atabay breed was used. all of the lambs were similar in weight, age and breed. a completely randomised design (C.R.D) with 4 diets A,B,C and D (contain 0,10,20 and 30% dried tomato pulp, respectively).lambs were fed 96 days. average daily dry matter intake (DMI) and feed conversion ratios for were A,B,C and D 2.20, 2.01,1.95,1.93 kg/day and 8.76,8.54,8.26,8.71 respectively. final weight and average daily gain of lambs were 63.5,62.21,61.14,58.79 kg and 231.75,235.07,216.7 and 198.1 g/day, respectively. there was signficant difference among the final weight of lambs (p0.05).at the end of the experiment 5 lambs from each treatment were sloughtered and carcass, femur and fat weight (P0.05). the result of this experiment indicated that the costs of B,C and D diets were 6.96, 17.1 and 27.2 percent lower than A diet. cost of each kilo gram weight gain in B,C and D treatments (12.3, 16.8 and 21.6%, respectively) was cheaper than A too. therefore, the use of dry tomato pulp tomato pulp in fattening lambs diets to 30% level reduced the cost of feed intake and meat production.
