A Study On The Effects Of Different Levels Of Sulfur And Enriched Barley Straw Treated With Urea On haracteristics Of Varamin Lambs Wool
2000
Taher Pour dari , Nosrat
In this study, 72 Varamini male lambs at seven months of age and average weight 38.38 :t3. 9 kg were divided randomely into 9 groups (8 lambs/group) . The lambs were fed with nine different rations: 0, 0.1 and 0.2 % sulfur(s)0,15 and 30% treated straw with urea (TSU). Groups 1 to 9 recieved (O)S, (0) TSU(O.l)S, (0) TSU(0.2)S, (0) TSU(O)S, (15) TSU(0. l)S, (15) TSU(0. 2)S, (15) TSU(0) S, (30)TSU(0.1)S, (30)TSU and (0.2)S, (30)TSU respectively. The ratio of nitrogen to sulfur in the rations of the groups which recieved 0, 0.1 and 0.2 of S were 10, 6.6 and 4.9, respectively. The diet of lambs were isocaloric and isonitrogenic . All lambs recieved water ad libtum and were gradully introduced to the experimental diets and accustomized to treament diets for 3 weeks. After adaptation they were being drenched and Vaccinated and were fed for 100 days .This expriment was carried out using factoial method(3x3) in a completly randomize design. At The end of expriment, using hand clipper, right hand mid side wool samlpes were collected and analysed. The measurments included: diameterGum), staplelength(cm),medulation(%) , type of fibre(%) , Vegetable matter(%), Wool nitrogen(%), Wool sulfur(%) and clean Wool(%). Data analysed Using analysis of variance and comparisions among groups by Mstat - c and Duncan's multiple range test. The data indicated that the means of diameter of fibre were significantly (P0.05) different among groups of lambs which recieved different level of S . Group of lambs with 0.2% S produced lower diameter wool. Groups without S in diets had higher number of fibres greater than 60rflm)' Clean wool percentage of groups of lambs which recieved 15% TSu, were significantly(P0.05) diffenrent, than rest of the groups. Coarse fibre percentage and fibre length of groups of lambs that recieved 15% TSU were significantly(PO.Ol) different than the others. The wool quality of lambs that didnot recieve S, TSU or both, was low. Incorporation of S or TSU didnot significantly alter wool nitrogen, but significantly(PO.Ol)changed wool sulfur content. Lambs which were fed the highest level of Sand TSU(O.2 and 30%respectively) produced optimum wool length and unifonnity of fibre length, diameter, clean wool and fleece weight.
