Correlation between vegetative growth and yield parameters of apples were analysed in several investigations. There were no similar observations about sour cherries in Latvian conditions carried out before. Therefore shoot length, diameter of trunk and first yield were determined in sour cherry orchards in Dobele. The total shoot length and diameter of trunk were determined after planning and in first two growing years. The yield was determined in third growing year. Correlation between these parameters was analysed. Significant correlation was determined for trunk diameter and total shoot length of sour cherries. Cultivars 'Latvijas Zemais' and 'Shokoladnica' had correlation between shoot length and yield, but for cultivar 'Orlica' - correlation between trunk diameter and yield (p is less than 0.05).
