In this paper, the distribution of mistletoe (Viscum album) in Gavieze parish (Latvia) was analyzed. An inventory and mapping of species localities was performed using a 500 x 500 m grid (the size of locality 0.25 square km). The first time in Latvia, Viscum album was recorded in Gavieze parish, in Mazais mežs in 1901. Since then, the number of species localities has continuously grown. Up to 2000, the increase in number of localities was slow: averagely 0.2 new localities per year, while a rapid expansion of Viscum album began after 2000, when the number of new localities increased for 4.6 new localities per year. The significant increase in number of species localities is mostly related to change of climate (milder winters).
