The aim of the current study was to investigate relations between bulls' age and motility, membrane integrity, membrane lipid architecture status and mitochondrial membrane potential in FT semen and reveal how these parameters are related to fertility. All the parameters but HOS were related to bulls' field fertility, however, the correlations were stronger for motility parameters than for flow cytomtrically estimated sperm membrane stability and mitochondrial activity. We conclude that measurements of frozen/thawed sperm general and progressive motility, VCL, ALH, sperm membrane stability and mitochondrial activity could be used for the semen quality control and prediction of bull's fertility in Al stations. Collection of semen from 3-7 years old bulls yields higher quality semen doses post-thaw in comparison to young bulls.
