Three F1 tomato hybrids, incorporating the rin, nor and alc genes, have been evaluated for their storage life under uncontrolled temperature and air humidity conditions. It was revealed that the use of the mentioned genes allow the prolongation of the storage period with 1-3 months, without any additional technical means. The highest keeping ability was registered in F1 hybrids heterozigous for the nor gene. Their storage life was on average 60-84 days, over two years of investigations. The trifactorial dispersion analysis revealed that the variability of the shelf-life character is influenced more strongly by the paternal genotypes (58.5 percent), homozigous lines for the rin, nor and alc mutant genes; whereas maternal genotypes of the crossing components, homozigous for the normal allele, influenced less (25.2 percent).
