Effect of different NP levels and commercial foliar fertilizer applications on growth and yield of sunflower

The experiment was conduct in a three replicated randomized complete block design with factorial arrangements: Three NP levels (60-50, 100-50 and 140-50 kg per ha) and three commercial foliar fertilizers (Super-Dawn, Uni-Grow and Uni-Power) were studied, and their performance was checked by keeping control treatments. The characters of economic importance such as: plant height, stem girth, number of days taken to maturity, head diameter, number of seeds per head, weight of seeds per head, seed index and seed yield per ha were recorded. The observations on the above characters were recorded on the basis five randomly selected plants in each plot. The results indicated that all the growth and yield contributing characters of sunflower were affected significantly (P less than 0.01) both by the application of NP fertilizers as well as commercial foliar fertilizers.
