Habitat conditions recognition, in catena habitat-soil scheme, include cross-section of Narew River Valley (Poland). In permanent swampy conditions, after desist from exploitation, on peatbog soil formed community type Glyceria maxima. At moderate exploitation, on mineral-muck soil, optimal humidified dominated valuable community Alopecurus pratensis + Poa pratensis, however on humus mud - Alopecurus pratensis + Festuca pratensis. On drying habitats, on mucky soil periodical dry appeared degraded community Festuca rubra + Deschampsia caespitosa
