Autocompatibilidad floral en cerezo (Prunus avium L.). Caracterización genética en un mutante natural
2007
Cachi, A.M.
Self-compatibility is one of the main breeding objectives in sweet cherry but natural self-compatibility is a rare phenomenon in sweet cherry. "Cristobalina", is a self-compatible local Spanish sweet cherry cultivar. In this work a population, derived from the crossing of "Cristobalina" and a self-incompatible variety, has been used to study the inheritance of self-compatibility and to identify AFLP markers linked to this character by using Bulked Segregant Analysis. The results obtained indicate that self-compatibility would be controlled by a single gene, heterozygous in "Cristobalina" and not linked to the S locus. Therefore additional factors not described yet, must be involved in the pollen function in Rosaceae self-incompatibility. One marker putatively linked to the self-compatibility locus in "Cristobalina" was identified but for linkage confirmation a larger number of primer combinations should be screened in order to identify markers significantly linked to self-compatibility in this population
