The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of Azotobacter chroococcum in the production of seedlings of acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia), elm (Ulmus pumila) and maple (Acer dasycarpum). The plant were inoculated in the different ways - only on seed, only on root, and on both the seed and the root. The observation of the effects of inoculation starts 60 days after seedling. Every 15 days the height of the plants was measured. At the end of the growing season, the diameter of the plant stems was measured. The inoculation had a positive effect on these parameters. By measuring the height of the seedlings among the three plants, it was concluded that the best effect was reached when inoculating both the seed and the root. By measuring diameter of seedlings it was concluded that in case of acacia the inoculation on seed and root had the best effect, whereas in case of elm and maple it was the root inoculation. The results of the research have shown that by using Azotobacter chroococcum it is possible to produce qualified seed material in a shorter time span.
