The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of sow teat sanitation during the piglet suckling period on bacteria reduction and consequently bacterial invasion of the piglet alimentary system. The study demonstrated the introduction of teat sanitation in sows as a potential prophylacting measure in pig production to significantly decrease bacterial count and consequently their invasion of the piglet alimentary system.
