The phenomenon of biotechnology represents a unique, complex, multidisciplinary biological activity that uses biological systems, living organisms or their derivatives, in order to achieve or change products and processes for the specific needs of man. Biotechnology combines the knowledge and achievements in theoretical areas that are linked to practical disciplines. Training methods of modern biotechnology has opened up many opportunities for its application in various fields: medicine, different types of industry, environmental protection, but found its are greatest application in agriculture. This paper discusses and overview of current use of biotechnological methods in agriculture.
