Based on the results of monitoring Krivaja waterflow, it was found that the sediment is highly contaminated with copper and zinc, which are found in concentrations that pose a risk to the environment, and quality of surface water. For the remediation of sediment was chosen solidification / stabilization (S/S) with lime, cement and clay. In order to determine the long-term behaviour of S/S mixtures, leaching tests were performed in accordance with ANS diffusion test for a period of 90 days. The results indicate that clay is the most effective immobilization agent for these two metals with cumulative fraction of metals leached less than 0.5%. Diffusion coefficients for copper and zinc were in the range of 1.1 E-13 square cm/s to 7.1 E-13 square cm/s, on the basis of which it can be concluded that the metals in the mixtures with clay, are almost completely immobilized.
