This paper deals with hydraulic model investigations of the stepped spillway of the Bogovina dam, which is to be built near the town Bor (in Serbia). Two models were used: one for the entire dam, and the other for only a part of the spillway. The model of the entire dam, built to scale 1:45, contains a part of the reservoir, the dam with spillway and the stilling basin, and the part of the downstream valley. The partial model, built to scale 1:12, reproduces only a part of the spillway crest, shorter than the width of a single spillway module. The investigations on the model of the entire dam are relevant for the determination of the overall spillway capacity, whereas the investigations on the partial model are aimed at the evolution of the energy dissipation on the stepped spillway.
