[New approaches to increasing the productive action of silages and using biotechnological techniques for beef production]
2009
Slozhenkina, M.I.
The work is aimed to determine the optimum doses to apply different conserving agents during silage herbage making of corn, sunflower and Sudan grass, their influence on the silage quality, to determine the silage influence on meat productivity of bull-calves on feed, to study the influence of new food supplements (comprising zeolite and selenium-containing agent DAFS-25, holy thistle pumpkin cake) on productivity of bull-calves, to develop new anti-stress preparations to reduce the loss of products when growing young cattle. Using conserving agents of green feeds in fixed doses allows reducing the period of silage ripening by 2-5 days, loss of nutrients – by 4.5-13%, to increase energy value of feeds by 5.3-18% and the content of digestible protein by 6.0-16.8%. Feeding calves with conserved silages promotes increasing the growth intensity by 4.4-15.3%, allows getting additionally up to 12.2 kg of high quality meat and to increase the profitability of beef production by 4.2-17.3%. As proved, it is advisable to use new food supplements (holy thistle pumpkin cake and zeolite and selenium complex) to grow calves for meat. To enhance production and to improve the beef quality it is recommended to introduce such supplements as Todikamp-Lakt, Radioglilakt and Tyvkoglilakt in the ration of calves based on 0.1 g per 1 kg of body weight. This provides increasing the average daily increment by 6.28-16.13% and the beef production profitability – by 5.6-17.0%.
