The task of the study is to find out the interrelationship between the content of Cd and Pb in soils and barley plants, arriving in them biogenic macroelements and indices of biological soil state estimated the levels of urease and invertase vegetation experiments were performed on soddy podzolic soil plots in Moscow Region. As is found, at different agrochemical backgrounds the content and liability of Cd in soils were the same, but its content in overground biomass and barley roots greatly reduced under effect of organic, organo-mineral and mineral backgrounds. This was caused by enhancing physiological barrier functions of barley plants at the soil-root and root-stem interfaces. A long-lasting positive aftereffect of different fertilizing systems on the physiological barrier functions of barley plants with respect to cadmium and lead at the soil-root and root-stem interfaces was revealed after 5-6 years of their use, which was related to the improvement of plant supply with biogenic elements, in particular phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium, as well as to the increase in the activities of urease and invertase in the soil
