This experiment was carried out at Maatug Research Substation Farm during season 2006 /07 to evaluate the efficacy of Sanitol 20% (fenpropathrin), Strempt 20% EC (fenpropathrin 15%+ pyriproxifen 5%), Diazitine 60 % EC for the African bollworm and whitefly and Brigade (new bioinsecticides) against the African bollworm and whitefly. These insecticides were compared with Danikool 20 % EC, Diazinon 60% EC (counterparts), Cypermight 25% EC (standard) and an untreated control. The tested insecticides showed comparable perforomance to their counterparts in reducing both whitefly population and African boll worm infestation on tomato fruits. The tested products significantly reduced the infestation of both insect pests compared to the untreated control. Moreover, all tested products except the lower dosage rate of Brigade significantly reduced the incidence of tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) disease and increased tomato yield (t/ fed) compared to the untreated control
