This study was conducted for two consecutive seasons 2005/06 and 2006/07 at Gezira (GRS) and Hudeiba Research stations (HRS) to evaluate the efficacy of Apron Star 42% WS and Gaucho 70% WS for the control of chickpea chlorotic dwarf (CpCDV), wilt and root rot diseases and pod borer infestation in chickpea. Apron Star was found most effective against stunt disease when applied at 2.5 g product / kg seeds resulting in an average increase in yield of 21-41% due to 43-58% reduction in disease incidence. None of the two products proved effective against the pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera
