Establishing of a digital terrain model (DTM) and evaluation of its availability and accuracy are important issues for projects oriented to landscape modelling and landscape architecture. One of the positive examples is also a digital terrain model world relief (Aster G-DEM30) with free access. However, it is necessary to have some knowledge about its accuracy while using the landscape relief model, mainly when dealing with elevation coordinates values. This contribution deals with accuracy of elevation coordinates of points DEM model created from Aster G-DEM30 database by comparison to accurate elevations from geodetic surveying for the chosen area of interest Podhorany – Bahorec in Nitra district. It can be stated that application possibility of gained terrain digital models depends on the area and the range of their usage. Using the terrain digital models constructed from Aster G-DEM30 database is possible for areas of conceptual landscape modeling and visualisation in landscape architecture, where there is relatively low level of details and computer models are presented from larger distances (some hundreds meters). It is necessary to specify elevation accuracy of models in application programmes at TIN models construction where the correct model parameters setting will provide minimalisation of elevation imperfections.
