The impact of nitrogen injection fertilization on winter wheat yield and grain quality was examinated in 2-year small-plot trial. The experiment contained 2 treatments using nitrogen surface broadcast fertilization in 3 doses and other 2 treatments using injection fertilization of all nitrogen necessary for the growth period (CULTAN system). The influence of sulphur addition was examinated in each fertilization system. The CULTAN treatments led to slightly higher yields of grain with comparable quality in 2009. In 2008, the yields and quality of grain were lower in CULTAN treatments. The average winter wheat grain yield from all the sites was 9.65 t per ha (conventional treatment without sulphur addition) and 9.43 t per ha (CULTAN treatment without sulphur addition). The application of nitrogen fertilizer with sulphur content increased the grain yield about 2% (conventional treatment) and 4% (CULTAN treatment) and improved the quality characteristics of grain (only CULTAN treatment).
