The impacts of some heavy metals on wheat yield under field conditions and toxicity indicators | Bazı ağır metallerin tarla koşullarında buğday bitkisinin verimine etkileri ve toksiklik belirtileri

Study aimed at determiningthe effect of various potential toxic heavy metals(Cu, Cr, Cd, Co, Zn,Mo, As) on the yield and growth of wheat in field conditionmetal toxicity in soilcritical toxic concentration and toxicity symptoms DTPA-extracted and total heavy metals being applied. Elucidating possible relations between soil applied metals and pre-existed metals in soil, treatments and plant-metal concentrations werw also among the objectives of the study. Water soluable forms of heavy metals(sulfate and oxide) were applied to soil then, awheat-chickpea rotation system was followed. Gün 91 wheat and Gökçe chickpea species were used as test plants. Experiment was designed as a fixed randomized blocks with 3 replications and 7 elements. Metals being applied areAs (10, 20, 40 kg/da), Cu and Co (20, 4, 60 kg/da), Cr ( 3,6,9 kg/da), Cd ( 5, 10, 15 kg/da) and Zn (50, 100, 200 kg/da). First harvest was carried out in 2002, then, respective rotation was followed which comprised chickpea in 2003, wheat in 2004, chickpea in 2005 and wheat in 2006. Following the application of a fore mentioned heavy metals in quantities mentioned above, wheat was sown as part of the rotation, Cu, Cr, Mo and As were determined to be toxic in 2002. Soil-applied Cu doses of 18.5 kg/da was observed to bring about 10% decrease in maximum yield. Critical Cu level was not attained in wheat foliar. 6.6 ppm Cu in grain and 335 ppm Cu in soil were identifed to be critical concentration and resulted in 10% subsidence in the maximum yield of wheat grain. As the soil-applied Cu increased, so did total Cu in soil, DTPA-extracted Cu, Cu concentration in wheat foliar and wheat grain. Increases were noted to be statistically significant. It was identified that 10% reduction in maximum yield of the first wheat cultivation was caused by Cr doses of 0.69 kg/da . In time of 10% decrease in wheat yield, Cr concentration in soil was 78.5 ppm. A significant correlation between total Cr and soil-applied Cr was found. Total Cr in soil increased in paralel with the increase in soil-applied Cr. 10% subsidence in wheat yield was revealed by the application of 14 kg/da Mo. 13.7 kg/da As was observed to decrease wheat yield up to 10%. In the second year (2003) chickpea was sown following wheat harvest. In 2004 wheat tthe place of chickpea in the same parsels. It was observed that Cr, Mo and As toxicity perpetuated resulting in significant amount of decrease in wheat yield. Cd, Zn, Co and Cu didn't create differences to the extent that it could be noted in wheat yield. Chickpea harvest was performed in 2005. At the fifth year of the experiment, wheat was sown, and only As persisted to be toxic, bringing about considerable decrease in yield. Toxicity of Cu, Cr, Cd, Co, Zn and Mo, which were only applied in the first year of the experiment, dissappeared at the third wheat growing period.

Çeşitli potansiyel toksik elementlerin (Cu, Cr, Cd, Co, Zn, Mo, As) tarla koşullarında buğdayın gelişimine ve verimine etkilerinin saptanması, tarla toprağında toksik olan ağır metal miktarının belirlenmesi, buğdayda toksik olan kritik derişimin ve oluşacak toksiklik semptomlarının belirlenmesi, toprağa uygulanan ağır metal miktarlarının DTPA yöntemiyle ekstrakte edilip uygulanan dozlar ile topraktaki ağır metal miktarları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi ve uygulamalarla bitkideki ağır metal konsantrasyonları arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya çıkarılması denemenin amaçlarıdır. Ağır metallerin suda kolay eriyen (sülfat ve oksit ) formları, 2001 yılında deneme alanına uygulanmış ve üzerine buğday-nohut münavebe sistemi ile ekim yapılmıştır. Deneme tesadüf blokları deneme desenine göre 3 tekrarlamalı olarak 7 element ile çakılı kurulmuştur. Mo ve As 10, 20, 40 kg/da, Cu ve Co 20, 40, 60 kg/da, Cr 3, 6, 9 kg/da, Cd 5, 10, 15 kg/da ve Zn 50, 100, 200 kg/da olarak uygulanmıştır. İlk buğday verimleri 2002 yılında alınmış ve 2003 yılı nohut, 2004 yılı buğday, 2005 yılı tekrar nohut ve 2006 yılı tekrar buğday ekimi yapılmıştır. Deneme alanına ilk yıl (2001) ilgili elementler belirtilen düzeylerde uygulanmış ve toprakla karıştırılmıştır. Uygulamadan sonra buğday-nohut münavebe sistemine göre ilk yıl buğday ekimi yapılmıştır. Uygulanan elementlerden ilk yıl (2002) krom, molibden, bakır ve arsenik buğday veriminde toksik olmuştur. İkinci yıl (2003) buğday hasatından sonra aynı parsellere nohut ekimi yapılmıştır. Nohuttan sonra (2004) aynı parsellere buğday ekimi yapılmıştır. İkinci buğday ekim yılında krom, molibden ve arsenik elementlerinin toksik etkileri devam etmiş ve buğday verimini önemli derecede azaltmışlardır. Diğer elementlerden kadmiyum, çinko, kobalt ve bakır uygulamalarında ise buğday verimini etkileyecek düzeyde farklılıklar olmamıştır. Deneme alanından 2005 yılında nohut hasatı yapılmıştır. Denemenin beşinci yılında buğday ekimi yapılmış ve ilk yıl belirtilen düzeylerde uygulanan elementlerin buğday verimine etkilerinde sadece As elementinin toksik etkisi devam etmiş, verimde önemli bir düşüş oluşturmuştur.
