A study on morphometric measurements of testes and spermatologic features of Karayaka rams during nonbreeding season | Karayaka koçlarında üreme sezonu dışında testislerin morfometrik ölçümleri ile spermatolojik özellikler üzerine bir araştırma

إنجليزي. In the present study, testes characteristics and spermatologic features of 10 Karayaka rams kept under Ankara were determined. The average scrotal circumference, volume, thickness, testis length, diameter were 29.80 ± 1.08 cm, 573.70 ± 25.66 ml, 0.57 ± 0.01 cm, 12.31 ± 0.48 cm, 5.9 0 ± 0.18 cm respectively. From each ram 10 ejeculates were collected twice a week using an artificial vagina during the nonbreeding period. The spermatological characteristics of samples were as following: Ejaculate volume average 0.98 ± 0.08 ml, spermatozoa motility 79.35 ± 0.88 %, spermatozoa concentration 3653.16 ± 179 x109/ml, percentage of abnormal spermatozoa 10.99 ± 0.58 %, percentage of dead spermatozoa 13.35 ± 0.63 %, HOS test 75.84 ± 1.16 % and pH averaged 6.92 ± 0.04 in Karayaka rams. This is the first study which was proved principle spermatological characteristics and testes size of Karayaka rams.

اللغة التركية. Bu çalışmada, Karayaka ırkı toplam 10 koçun testislerinin morfometrik ölçüleri ile spermatolojik özellikleri araştırıldı. Testis ölçülerinden skrotum çevresi, skrotum hacmi, skrotum kalınlığı, testis uzunluğu, testis çapı değerleri sırasıyla ortalama 29.80 ± 1.08 cm, 573.70 ± 25.66 ml, 0.57 ± 0.01 cm, 12.31 ± 0.48 cm, 5.90 ± 0.18 cm olarak bulundu. Aşım sezonu dışında her koçtan haftada iki kez olmak üzere suni vajen yardımıyla 10'ar ejekülat alındı. Koçlardan alınan sperma örneklerinin spermatolojik özellikleri; ejekülat miktarı 0.98 ± 0.08 ml, spermatozoa motilitesi % 79.35 ± 0.88, spermatozoa yoğunluğu 3653.16 ± 179 x109/ml, anormal spermatozoa oranı % 10.99 ± 0.58, ölü spermatozoa oranı % 13.35 ± 0.63, HOS test oranı % 75.84 ± 1.16 ve spermatozoa pH değeri 6.92 ± 0.04 olarak bulundu. Bu çalışma, Karayaka koçlarda testis ölçüleri ve spermatolojik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi için yapılan ilk çalışmadır.
