Nikolova, E., Experimental Station for Agriculture, Pomorie (Bulgaria)
The aim of the research was to study the agro-biological charac teristics of some seedless grapevine cultivars and pick out suitable for cultivation in the area of South Black Sea seedless vine varieties. In the period 2003-2005 аt Experimental Station of Agriculture Pomorie seedless varieties were studied: white – Seedless Hybrid VI-4, Slavyanka, Thracian pearl, Perlet, Kishmish Moldavian and Vita. Of the studied varieties Kishmish Moldavian and Perlet are introduced and the rest are an achievement of the Bulgarian selection science. At the beginning of the study vines were 17-years old, in complete fructify, formed as high-stem 120 cm double Gyuyot. The vineyard is settled on pellic vertisols at a planting distance 3.0/1.2 m. Experimental data were obtained on specific parameters under Methods for study and description of the vine cultivars and rootstocks Katerov K. et al. 1990 and the grape quality was estimated using Instruction №9/26.03.2002 of MAF for quality and control of fresh fruits. The results show that all studied varieties are suited for cultivation in the South Black Sea Region. The grapes of Perlet ripen earliest, followed by Tracian perl and Kishmish Moldavian. The highest quantity and percentage of bunches class Extra obtained in cultivars Slavyanka and Thracian pearl. Reaching index of refraction 14°Br the grape of all variants is at consumption ripeness. The highest percentage of distributed grape is for Seedless Hybrid VI-4 and Kishmish Moldavian.
