An assessment of the quality of water for irrigation is requires the evaluation of great amount of information where the significant part is data from laboratory analysis. The study examines a structure and an algorithm of a possible decision as a computer based system for assessment of applicability of irrigation water depending on its quality, equipped by laboratory for analyzing of water and soil samples. The basic steps of the software are presented too. The system uses the parameters of chemical laboratory analysis and their mutual influence over the crop, as well as data of water sources, water users and soil types. The aims is the preparing of an expert assessment about the opportunities and the way of irrigation water usage taking in consideration the variety of the grown crops, the soil and climatic characteristics and the irrigation technology, kreating preconditions for ecological equilibrium preservation, development of sustainable irrigated agriculture and protection of the water resources by their efficient use in accordance with crops requirements.
