The structure of market prices for open and protected ground vegetables in the Republic of Belarus in the context of regions was examined and analyzed. The comparison of structure of the national retail prices for vegetables with the similar prices in countries with the developed vegetable growing branch was presented. Research results showed that up to 90% in the selling prices of the national vegetables is taken up by their costs of production. In some cases the prime costs were higher than retail prices. Expenses for realization and marketing accounted for insignificant part in price formation. Vegetables are socially significant foods products and their prices are regulated by government. Vegetable producers should try to lower the prime costs for product units and increase their quality. In this case in the equal sales terms and prices the profit and cost effectiveness will be higher. Seasonal production variability of vegetables influences the formation of both producer's prices and retail prices in shops and markets. Price dispersion in accordance with vegetable types is rather high, and it subsequently influences the consumer market of vegetables and its choice. The main ratio in vegetable supply by national producers is taken up by the so-called cheap vegetables (carrot (Daucus), cabbage (Brassica), and red beet (Beta vulgaris)). More expensive vegetables had less demand, so their producers did not try to increase the production output. Comparison of retail prices structure between countries with the developed and efficient vegetable production sub-complex and the Republic of Belarus showed the presence of differences. In the analyzed foreign countries the main part of expenses out of agricultural production is connected with products transportation and wholesale and extra retail prices including the cost of goods sold. The highest ratio in retail price formation is taken up by expenses or marketing system.
