There were considered the basic categories which give introduction about the subject of an economic life in agrarian economy such as: "manpower", "labor", "labor potential", "the human factor", "the human capital". The distinctions between the given terms were analyzed. On the basis of the realized research there was specified the understanding of a social and economic category "manpower" by means of substantiation and inclusion into the given concept of a social component.
