The paper presents the general hydrochemical, ecologic and medicinal characterization of ultra fresh groundwater with salt content less then 100 mg/liter. Chemically, these are mainly calcium hydro carbonate and magnesium-calcium waters showing rather low pH values (averaging 5.5-6.5). These waters occur over vast areas in the Belarusian Polisje region. Ultra fresh groundwater is widely used for drinking and domestic water supply. A problem of continuous using such water for drinking purposes as a probable hazard of diseases caused by deficiency of some chemical elements is discussed. Ultra fresh ground water of Belarus is compared to similar waters of some European countries, where these are used as drinking bottled water.
