In course of the research there was studied the whole variety of arable lands in the Republic of Belarus according to their type, hydromorphism level, granulometric composition of soil-forming and basement rocks, geological character of genetic profile and their modern ecological condition. Also there were analyzed the main crops cultivated in the Republic of Belarus, which occupy large areas and have an important food, feed and technological value (winter wheat (Triticum aestivum), winter triticale, spring wheat, barley (Hordeum vulgare), flax flax (Linum usitatissimum), sugar beet (Beta vulgaris var. saccharifera), winter rape (Brassica napus)). As a result of realized research there was developed a new advanced agroindustrial grouping of soils according to their suitability for different cultivated in Belarus crops. The presented grouping included 15 agricultural groups of soils in accordance with which arable lands were assessed on the degree of their suitability (the most suitable; suitable; of little use; unusable) for 16 crops and their groups. The grouping made it possible to evaluate more precisely the suitability of each agricultural group and even soil forms for agricultural crops growing.
