During growing-finishing period, 21 pigs Duroc x (Landrace x Large White) were given liquid feeding and other 21 pigs given solid feeding (granulated feed). The feeding type and gender had not significant effect on carcass and meat quality. However, the interaction between feeding type x gender was significant for the loin dry matter percentage and color variables a*, b*, C* and oximyoglobine. The liquid feeding decreased the C16:0, C18:0 SFA and increased C18:1 n-9 and MUFA proportions in intramuscular fat (IMF). The IMF from castrate males contained higher C16:0, SFA and lower C18:2 n-6 proportions than that from females. Positive and significant relationships between C16:0, C18:1 n-9 and IMF were observed, whereas the relationship found between C18:2 n-6 and IMF was negative.
