Preparation of noneatable fish silage using edible salt and its application in animal nutrition

Annually in Bushehr province, during shrimp fishing season, about 16000 Tons trash fish catch that return to sea as a dead or half - dead. The aim of this experiment was the use of salt for conserving those fishes for transfering to fish meal factory. This experiment carried out in form of completely randomized design according 4x3 factorial method which in that salt (10, 20, 30 and 40%) and time of storage (1, 2 and 3 monts) with 9 replicans. Fish silages evaluation for content of DM, CP, EE, TVN and salt were conducted in AOAC methods. pH was deternimed by digital pH meter. The extistence test ofpatogen bacteria and aflatoxine were conducted. The results showed that the bacteira caused spoilage hasn't tolerance ability of 6-8 percent or further salt and the silages have not patogen bacteria and aflatoxine test was negative. Also, all the treatments had pH lower than 7 and relatively were acidify, because they were free from spoilage which known by alkaline factor and then fishes preserved by salt properly and 30 percent salt treatment in the first month was better than other treatments (P0.05). The average of ether extract in all treatments were less than 10 percent that it seems in this case preserving was also carry out and the lowest content of ether extract was for 40 percent salt in second month (P 0.05). With regard to high content of total volatile nitrogen in 10, 20 and 30 percent salt, the 40 percent salt treatment could possibily preserve silages for providing fish meal in high quality maximume one month, but high content of salt can be effect on its possibility usage. Then with regard of all characteristics that studied, we could not tell that the concentration of salt required for prserving shrimp by catch fishes and it must be used another preservator agent.
