Objective of the research: to estimate the amount of heavy metals in the reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea L.) in the first year of harvest. The reed canary grass variety 'Marathon' was studied two seeding times and four nitrogen fertilizer rates. Arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and titanium (Ti) in the samples of the reed canary grass were determined using the atomic absorption equipment Optima 2100 DV. Harvest October. The first year harvest of reed canary grass proved to have significantly (p is less than 0.001) negative correlation between the As and ashes content.
