إنجليزي. The aim of this paper is to analyze the structure of forest landscape and its impact on biodiversity in the Bauska District, Latvia. The database of the State Forest Service and field research from 1994 to 2004 were used. Diversity and protection of the current forest ecosystems were described using different forest classification methods. The structure of tree species and their age was analyzed. Analysis indicated a decrease of oak forests by 3.5% of their native vegetation area and a high proportion of drained forests, as well as a disproportional age structure of forest ecosystems. The findings can be useful for biodiversity protection in intensively managed and fragmented forest landscapes.

Analīzei izmantota Valsts meža dienesta datubāze un lauku pētījumu rezultāti. Ar dažādām meža klasifikācijas metodēm raksturota meža ekosistēmu daudzveidība un tās aizsardzība; analizēta mežaudžu koku sugu un vecuma struktūra. Veikta aizsargājamo teritoriju telpiskā un iekšējās struktūras analīze. Pētījuma gaitā norādīts, ka ozolu meži aizņem tikai 3,5% no tiem dabiski piemērotiem augšanas apstākļiem; ir augsts nosusināto mežu īpatsvars, kas veido 59% no visu slapjo un purvaino mežu platībām; pastāv neproporcionalitātes meža ekosistēmu vecumstruktūrā. Iegūtie dati svarīgi, lai turpmāk plānotu bioloģiskās daudzveidības saglabāšanu intensīvi apsaimniekotu un fragmentētu meža zemju teritorijās.
