Effect of foliar applied zinc and boron on growth and yield of cotton (Gossypium hirustum L).

The treatments included the cotton variety Karoorpati, to examine their response various boron and zinc application. The maximum plant height (97.25cm) were noted with the application of 1.5 B + 10 kg Zn per ha and results was significant in this treatment and the other treatments were no-significant increase in the value of this parameter was observed under 2.5 B + 10.1 Zn, 3.0 B + 10 Zn and 1.5 B + 1.15 Zn kg per ha. The application of these micronutrients decreased the plant height in the other treatments. Number of open bolls per plant was significantly superior (36.25 and 35.75 per plant) under the incorporation 2.5 B + 10 Z and 3.0 B + 10 Zinc kg per ha. Number of un-open bolls per plant was significantly superior (2.91) in control plot where no zinc and boron were applied. Number of branches per plant was found higher (26.66 per plant) under 1.5 Boron + 10 Zinc kg per ha.
