Physical and chemical characteristics of different varieties of apple

The results of Physical analysis indicated that the vertical and horizontal diameter recorded maximum values 7.40 cm and 8.47 in Red delicious variety followed by other two varieties of apple and varieties were highly and significantly different for these parameters. The statistically data showed maximum value of 0.99% for specific gravity in variety Red delicious. The variety Red delicious can be considered better as compared to other two varieties i.e. Golden and Amri. Chemical analysis revealed that the maximum juice content (65.85%) was recorded in variety Red delicious and result was statistically non-significant among the varieties. The statically data showed that the pH value of 4.13% was higher in varieties Golden and results was highly significant among the varieties. From the results it was found that varieties were significant in moisture percentage, while the variety golden was recorded maximum 80.40% beyond the other two varieties.
