The results of experimental research of compressive strength parallel to the grain and radial hardness by Brinell of thermally modified sessile oak wood (Quercus sessiliflora S.) are show. Material is from coppice forest of National Park Đerdap in east Serbia. Two groups of samples, from heartwood and sapwood are select. Samples has been treated at 170 deg C and at 190 deg C, duration 4 hours. The study results show that heat treated wood of sessile oak has less absorption, density and compressive strength parallel to the grain then untreated wood, but hardness, has approximately the same values as untreated wood. Wood from heartwood and sapwood shows the same value of hardness. The results presented in tables and in diagram with statistical parameters and compared to the literature data. There are correlations between study properties of wood.
