In the first part of the paper points out the causes of great global environmental pollution and the measures to be taken worldwide to reduce all types of waste that pollute the soil, water and atmosphere, especially emmision of CO2, which significantly contributes to the iglobal warming. In the second part it is shown how the manufacturing of fiber and paper contributes to burden the environment. Then, it is demonstrated how fiber and paper manufacturers contribute to environmental protection by fiber and paper recycling and savings in consumption of water and energy. In addition, attention is drawn to the fact that production of fiber and paper industry is one of the five industries that are major consumers of energy and therefore automatically have a high CO2 emissions. Since the CO2 emissions is to be payed and emission fees increase at certain intervals, the fiber and paper manufacturers must take into account further increase production costs.
