The aim of this study is to follow the dynamic of the corn rootworm population using yellow sticky trap (Multigard Ecogen inc.) and pheromones traps (Csalomon-panel). In the second part of the research efficiency of bifentrin (Talstar 10 EC), terbufos (Counter G 5), tebupirimfos-b-ciflutrin (Arriba 2.1 GR), imidakloprid (Gaucho 350 FS) i tiametoksam (Cruiser 350 FS) was examined also as optimal doses in combating larvae of corn rootworm on land type of degraded chernozem. The experiment was conducted on the degraded chernozem in fields during 1999 and 2000 at Bačko Dobro Polje location (Serbia) that were extreme in terms of climate with deviations from the average of several years. Such climatic conditions have influenced the results of research. Using yellow sticky and pheromones traps in 1999 and 2000 we continued following dynamics and density of the corn rootworm population. In both types of traps we have recorded a large number of imagoes, which leads to the possibility of strong damages and necessity of compliance crop rotation as the most effective way of the reducing pests. The efficiency of insecticides was evoluated trough indicators like number of plants, how much the plants can be flattened, damaged roots and achieving an average income. The use of insecticides had no effect on number of plants. Regardless of differences in the efficiency of applied insecticides, they reduced the damage from the corn rootworm as proved by the results in relation to the control.
