Production of strawberries is unsatisfactory in terms of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), both in volume production and in terms of planting system. Strawberries are grown, mainly, on small production areas (0.1-0.2 ha), outdoor, the system of beams on the foil with irrigation systems and inadequate cultivars. In the last few years, production of strawberries getting more and more its place in the individual sector and the rapidly rising with an increasing share of professional services in planning the choice of planting system an cultivar. The objective of our study was to research gender because of selection cultivars for plantation cultivation. The results of the research involved the testing of some biological and pomological characteristics of strawberries cultivars (Madeleine, Selena, Patty, and Marmolada). This research has show that these cultivars have good economic and biological characteristics in terms of Sarajevo and that can be successfully grown in this area.
