The study involved 80 patients with hypertensive disease (HD) and ischemic heart disease (IHD). The main group included 30 patients, the comparison group – 50 patients. The average age of patients with HD was 44.7 years, patients with IHD – 57.3 years. In all patients overweight was observed. Having supporting treatment, the patients of the main group received a supplement comprising skim cheese, egg albumen, rye bran, dried apricots, corn silk, green tea leaves, red bilberry leaves, great nettle, sea cabbage, chitosan. The caloric value of the product was 183.76 kcal, the contents of proteins, fats and carbohydrates 32.47, 2.66 and 7.47 g, respectively. The supplement is a powder that was prescribed in an amount of 35 g instead of breakfast and supper for 15 days. The supplement was poured with cold boiled water or slim kefir or a pulpy juice. Taking the supplement resulted in reduced daily caloric value of the ration. On the first days of taking the supplement the patients observed the great and moderate esurience, and then it was dulled. By the end of course of taking the supplement the body weight in the group of patients with HD reduced from 100.4 kg by 3.9-7.4 kg, and in the group of patients with IHD - from 103.4 kg by 4.0-7.6 kg. In all patients of the main group the concentration of glucose in the blood serum decreased by 7.9-25.3% (to normal state). The content of triglycerides exceeded the norm before the supplement taking was started in 46.7% of cases, after taking – in 26.7% of cases. The total cholesterol reduced by 8.1-25.4%. As a result of taking the supplement, a stable reduction of arterial pressure and heart rhythm were observed
