The contribution deals with perspectives of beef and pig meat production in Slovakia. The part of an analysis is characteristics and prediction of development trends in supply and demand of watched commodities not only at domestic but also at world market. Pursuant to findings it is possible to stay, that animal production has been increased permanently and there exists a strong potential for its increase in the future decade. In regard to high competitiveness of beef and pig meat at international markets and concerning lower production effectiveness in comparison with developed countries, Slovak production will not reach its previous decade average at the end of predicted period. Domestic demand of pig meat will be supplemented by import.
