Genetic resources are an important part of biodiversity which contribute to expand the diversity of products for human consumption, but may also contribute to improving the quality of the product. The aim of the study was to evaluate quality of eggs of Czech hen, which since 1992 included in the genetic resources of the Czech Republic. The experiment was evaluated total of 235 eggs from 66 hens housed in conventional cages and on litter, 20-64 weeks of age. The results showed that the housing system significantly affected the proportion of yolk, shell thickness and Haughovy units. Eggs laid in cages had a higher quality of albumen and yolk, respectively Haughovy units and eggs laid on litter had higher egg weight and improved shell quality.
