Preliminary screening and selection for chilling tolerance in chickpea germplasm under controlled condition

إنجليزي. According to the variance analysis, it was found out that there were significant differences for chilling tolerance among studied genotypes (P = 0.001, data are not presented). Reaction of annual Cicer species and other lines to cold is given. The best chilling tolerance sources among the annual wild Cicer species were all accessions of C. echinospermum and C. reticulatum and 15 lines that showed high tolerance withstood in -20ºC. Most of the lines (e.g. ILC 533) along with the sensitive check were killed at all pods. While 8 lines as intermediate tolerance had scores 3 to 5, the remaining had different levels of cold tolerance on a 5 to 9 scale. The results showed that the lines such as ILC 6142, S 96078, X 95TH 1 K1 and FLIP 94-108C had high chilling. All the accessions of wild species were tolerant

Результаты исследований показали, что между изучаемыми сортообразцами имеется существенная разница. В целом испытуемые сортообразцы засухоустойчивые, однако FLIP 87-59 С и FLIP 02-38 С отличались также высокоурожайностью и раннеспелостью.
