The purpose of this study was to determine the productivity of corn grown for silage, cropped after barley, under different farming systems in meteorologically different years. The survey results show that on the average for the period of study, the presence of moisture in the soil is a decisive factor for the crop density. During the vegetation period, the weed infestation is a major factor determining the plants height and silage yield, reaching 3770 kg/da green mass from the plots of land free of weeds; the soil treatment has strong impact on the sowing density and weaker impact on its productivity under the conditions of mineral fertilization and biomass of previous crop.
