In course of the research there was studied genetic diversity of natural populations of the fungus Colletotrichum lupini - causative agent of lupine (Lupinus) anthracnose on the basis of cultural and morphological characteristics and spectrum of storage proteins in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. For the first time Lupine anthracnose was described in Brazil by phytopathologist Bondar in 1912, by whom this activator was defined as Cloesporum lupinus. The infection was extremely aggressive to all species of lupines, but stronger than others were infested white (Lupinus albus) and yellow lupine (Lupinus luteus). The first strains of activator Lupine anthracnose were allocated in immunity laboratory of Scientific and Practical Center for Arable Farming of the National Academy of Sciences (Belarus) in 2001, and the artificial infectious background for an estimation of stability of a selection material was put in pawn in 2002. As a result of realized research four related groups of the pathogen were identified, but there was not enough data to accurately separate them into VCG races.
