Photosynthetic activity and productivity of miliary forage crops | Продуктивность посевов просовидных кормовых культур
2010
Korzun, O.S., Grodno State Agrarian Univ. (Belarus)
In course of the research there was studied the photosynthetic activity and productivity of miliary forage crops (millet (Panicum miliaceum), Indian barnyard millet (Echinochloa frumentacea), foxtail millet (Setaria italica) and moharicum (Setaria italica Р. В. ssp. mocharium Alet.)). The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in Grodno region in 2008-2009 on sod-podzolic sandy loam middle-cultivated soils, underlain by moraine clay loam from the depth of 0.7 m. The agrochemical indicators of arable horizon were the following: humus content - 1.8 - 1.9%, pH - 5.9 - 6.5, average degree of phosphorus and potassium mobile forms security. The comparative characteristics of the biometric parameters and some elements of the crop structure of millet and miliary crops were given. The maximum values of plant leaf surface and photosynthetic potential were formed at Indian barnyard millet. Positive influence of mineral fertilizers in the doses of N60P60K90 on photosynthetic activity of millet and military crops was shown. On a control background without entering of mineral fertilizers foxtail millet and moharicum conceded Indian barnyard millet on gathering of a dry matter from 1 ha in green mass on 12.7 - 20.1%. On a background N60P60K90 the highest yeild of dry matter from 1 ha was obtained at Indian barnyard millet.
