Among the grain crops cultivated on fields of the Republic of Belarus maize (Zea mays) is one of the most valuable and fruitful cultures, occupying more than 800 thousand in hectare. But obtaining of a high qualitative crop of seeds, grain and green mass of corn is impossible without carrying out of the integrated system of protection against a pest complex. The specific structure of corn pests is diverse enough and includes about 100 species. The greatest harm to corn causes polyphagous pests (cereals elaters (Elateridae), European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis Hbn.)). From specialized pests it is possible to note the Western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera LeConte), which secondary invasion and acclimatization is possible the next years. In course of the research there were studied elaters, European corn borer and Western corn rootworm harmfulness in corn crops in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. As a result of realized research a complex of measures (agrotechnical, chemical, biological, quarantine) for the indicated pest control was proposed. The evaluation was given and main measures, application of which was effective against a complex of phytophages species were pointed out.
